Firefox Send Link does not work after upgrade - Can’t email from Firefox
For the loooonnggest time, I have not been able to click on Send Link in Firefox to have my default email client open automatically with the link. It’s pretty annoying to try to send a link from Firefox to someone, only to think, “oh yeah, I’ll have to copy and paste the link into an email….I really need to figure out how to fix this some day.”

Well, today, I finally investigated. Wow, it’s really easy, although novices won’t be too happy with the fix ‘cuz you have to mess with the Firefox config:
- In Firefox, type “about:config” in the address bar.
- If you see a message about voiding a warranty, go past it.
- In the Filter box, search for “network.protocol-handler.external.mailto” (without quotes)
- If the value is “false” change it to “true”.
- Presto - you can again email links from Firefox.
I found this info on the mozilla.support.firefox Google Group, in a thread addressing the problem: Send Link does not work in Firefox.
