Cranial Dump

My family and I are addicted to American Idol. Even though my faves Bo Bice didn’t win (yes, Carrie Underwood is incredibly talented, but I country music gives me indigestion) and Chris Daughtry’s getting voted off was a farce likely brought on by VoteForTheWorst.com, we are still avid AI-watchers.

The talent this season has many great performers. David Cook is my favorite. I would buy an album he recorded any day. Carly Smithson is a close second for me. All the others trail behind these two although there are great voices in this group.

I like Jason Castro’s voice and part of his appeal is that he’s so darn good lookin’. I wish the AI stylists would convince him to lose the dreadlocks, which looked so dry last night that all the while he performed the words, “hot oil treatment” circulated through my thoughts.

David Archuleta has great talent for a kid his age, but his style seems limited and he’s getting on my nerves. Kristy Lee Cook has potential but she needs a lot of practice to catch up to the of ability that the other contestants show.

Just my opinion.
