Frog Rescue
We set up an aquarium recently, and slowly stocked it with fish and other critters - like a ghost shrimp and a little African frog that lives under water. Unfortunately, the little African frog keeps swimming too close to the intake tube for the filter and his legs get sucked into the tube. Last week, I found him dangling from the tube and rescued him. It was kind of traumatic when I found him, and of course, my daughter was home and was very upset by the site. So I turned down the suction on the filter but last night, I found the little dude dangling from the intake tube again. At least the second time his little legs were not rubbed raw, but if we leave town for a couple of days I am concerned about what we will come back to if he’s been stuck for so long.

The job of being a mom is never ending and forever training. Who know that I would be researching ways to put some sort of shield around the intake tube so the water still filters well and a little African frog does not. Fun, fun, fun!
