How to Plan and Implement Project Kill Days

Ever need to just get off of the merry-go-round of every day life and lock yourself into a room to complete a project that has been nagging at your psyche for some time? This happens to me every once in awhile, and the projects requiring completion are always almost finished but need some detail work which is time-consuming. So, I go into my office and usually write an outline or to-do list and then get to work while allowing no new commitments to cloud my vision until that task is complete. I close the email client and IM, ignore the phone unless the caller ID says it’s my daughter’s school calling (and it never is) and even snarl at family members who attempt to approach me for what ever the latest request is.

I love the thoughts, advice and tips PickTheBrain shares in Triple Your Productivity Tomorrow, and I’ll be using this info to refine my Project-Kill days. The PickTheBrain blog is one of my favorite places to go for inspiration and ideas to stay organized (well, sort of) and defeat procrastination (which I deal with all the time as 4-25 different great ideas and plans bounce around in my head).
